The Casa Laxmi Foundation was established by Mrs. Pramila Kulkarni and the late Mr. Chandrakant Kulkarni.
Mrs. Kulkarni spent over fifty years in the social development field as well as with political parties both in government and in the opposition in India. Her main achievement is the building of a school from nothing to an acclaimed Institute with two major facilities accommodating over 1,500 students. She has been spearheading this activity for the past thirty years and has successfully raised funds for the expansion of the school through Rotary International, Canadian International Development Agency and other prestigious international organizations.
The late Mr. Kulkarni was a tremendous advocate of education and was a lifetime educator who spent most of his working career at the Agriculture University of Pune, India in the research and education field. He instilled in his children the importance and value of obtaining a good education and encouraged them to continue higher studies. His sacrifices allowed his children to study abroad, immigrate to Canada and become well-established, successful entrepreneurs.
