The Institute’s goal is to create the type of leaders that this world needs – ones with empathy, compassion, and humility. In order to do so, we need to lay the foundation from a very early age by teaching our youngest students about respect. Respect for themselves, for others, for the property, and for the environment.
The Institute will implement measures from three perspectives to realize this goal: agriculture, recycling, and renewable energy.
Agriculture
Our campus will house a farming facility where we will grow organic fruits and vegetables to be used in the preparation of food for students and staff. We will encourage students to actively participate in the growth and cultivation of the produce. Recent trends have shown that students in this day and age know very little, if anything, about where our food comes from. Many do not realize the connection between French fries and potatoes or know that milk is white or that eggs are laid by chickens. By not only exposing children to growth cycles but having them take an active role in these growth cycles, they will start to understand what it means to respect the earth and why it is deserving of protection.
Recycling
At the Institute, recycling material will be properly managed and processed. This will be critical in order for us to teach children the importance of maintaining and preserving the environment. After all, children will learn through observation and the Institute’s aim is to set a good example for these children from all possible aspects.
Renewable Energy
With a campus of approximately 300 acres, the Institute will offer transportation to students, staff, and visitors using cars and golf carts. We will erect solar power stations on campus with a view of housing only electric vehicles which will be parked at these stations and charged throughout the day. This is yet another means of teaching our students how to minimize their environmental footprint.
